Week 6 - The Rule of 7

From Inc. Magazine: While talent is important, we all basically learn at the same rate. We can learn anything we want. The real difference is often in the initial knowledge. However, with practice, any student can achieve mastery. People will begin to question how long it takes to master a particular piece of knowledge. This is the so-called "Seven Rules". HubSpot co-founder Dharmesh Shah says people often confuse talent with skill. To the Shah, skills are things that can be learned and talent is how quickly you acquire a specific skill. It does make sense that some people have a talent for math. This makes it easier for them to acquire math skills than someone without math talent. However, that doesn't mean I can't get there. It may take me longer.

The Rule of Seven doesn’t mean you can become a world-class expert with just seven exercises, but it does emphasize the power of focused, deliberate practice. Every study session is purposeful and focused. This is not about passively absorbing information but actively engaging with the subject matter. Second, regular, well-structured lessons can exponentially improve your understanding and proficiency over time. By breaking down your study into manageable chunks, you can get the most out of each course. This approach maximizes your cognitive resources and memory.
